Rintaro (りんたろう Rintarō) was born on January 22, 1941, in Tokyo, Japan, and is a well-known director of anime. He co-founded an animation studio named Madhouse. Rintaro was a fan of Osamu Tezuka's and worked with him on Kimba the White Lion, Astro Boy, and Jetter Mars. Another name he went by was Kuruma Hino.
